In
my last blog, I mentioned that I would be posting an update regarding my
experiences with the Villisca Ax Murder house and why I continue to go back,
even after something very negative returned home with me on two occasions after
investigating the house. in 2008 and again in 2010.
The Villisca update will be forthcoming in the next
week or so, as well as an update on upcoming investigations.

Todays
update will be discussing a connection that I seem to have with the number 1111
and various combinations and sequences of the number one (1.).
The 1111 Connection
Soon after becoming
involved in paranormal research and the investigation of unexplained phenomena, I started
noticing the number 1111 everywhere I went. This wasn’t an occasional experience, as I was seeing it all the time. I would see the number so often, that it was
uncanny. It all started fourteen years ago and continues to this day.
Since the phenomena began, I have written about and discussed my experiences seeing combinations of the number one (1) many times over. Combinations, such as 11, 111 and 1111 seem to pop up all the time in my daily life.
Recently I received a private message on my Facebook page asking me for my opinion as to what the 1111 phenomena is all about. I responded to the message, but thought the topic may be of interest to those who read my blog.
What I am about to discuss
is strictly my theory, based on the experiences I have had with the phenomena
over the last fourteen years.
The 1111 Phenomena, what's it all about?
(The "Why" Portion of the Phenomena.)
When I first started to notice the number 1111 on a regular basis, I simply thought it was interesting but didn't pay a lot of attention to it. But my opinion soon changed, because I started seeing it everywhere I went. It seemed like I would look up at the clock at exactly 11:11, or would wake up at night at exactly 11:11P.M., pretty much every night for better than a month! Next I noticed how when going to restaurants, the hostess would usually seat me at table number 1, 11 or 111.
I’ll never
forget one particular Saturday morning as I was driving down a main thoroughfare in Springfield, Illinois
when I received a text message. When I looked at my phone, I noticed that it
was 11:11 A.M. As I glanced up to check traffic, I had to slam on my
breaks to avoid rear-ending the car in front of me. The car in front of me had
an Illinois license plate, and the number was simply, "you guessed it" 1111.
I had never seen that license plate number before and I have not seen it since.
On another occasion, while conducting an investigation at an old hospital, I carried around an audio recorder with me, attempting to record EVP's. When I glanced at the recorder to make sure it was still recording, I noticed that the time on the recorder was 11:11 P.M. There was a female investigator standing nearby. She was aware of my strange connection and experiences that I had with the number 1111, so I pointed out the time on my recorder to her. She laughed and said, “Imagine that Larry”, as if to say, with you, I wouldn’t expect anything less.
Shortly after showing her the time on the recorder, I happened to glance once again at the recorder, and noticed that time was now showing 10:15 P.M. A bit confused as to how this happened, I said to the investigator, “Hey, look at this, the time on my recorder has gone backward and is now showing that it is only 10:15!” She looked at her watch and said, that’s because it is 10:15! We were puzzled as both of us were positive that we had clearly seen the time of 11:11 P.M. on the recorder. We couldn't understand how only moments before the time on the recorder was 11:11 P.M., then suddenly reverted to an earlier time.
The next night, the female investigator was driving home from work, and was talking to another paranormal investigator by phone. She explained what she had witnessed the night before and how she saw the time of 11:11 on my recorder, then only minutes later the time changed to 10:15. As she was telling the story, she pulled into the drive-thru of a Kentucky Fried Chicken to order dinner to take home. She placed her order and the cashier totaled up the cost of the order and announced through the intercom, “That will be $11.11 Mam!” The investigator later told me that she practically fell over when the cashier told her the price.
The two examples I just gave are but the tip of the iceberg when it comes to the experiences that I have had with the 1111 phenomena!
(So, what does it mean?)
I believe in the beginning, it was simply an awakening or a wakeup call for me, to get me to notice it. The question is, a wakeup call from who or what and why? The “why part” or at least I believe the “why part”, in the beginning, was simply to get my attention. They get our attention, by flashing the very noticeable and obvious number combinations and sequences of 1’s such as 1, 11, 111,1111 and so on.”
Once they, and by"they", I am refering to the
“who or what” portion of the equation, finally get our attention, it is at that point that we start to realize we are seeing these numbers at an unusual rate, and start to wonder if
there is more to it. More to it that is, than simple random coincidence. It’s sort of a first realization
that, “Hey this is happening way too often to be happening by chance.”
At some point, I started to notice that when I would see these combinations of the number 1, including 1111, the numbers always seemed to pop up whenever I needed reassurance about something. They also seemed to pop up when I was trying to make a decision or when I wasn’t sure if I was doing the right thing, or making the right choices in my life. There seemed to be some type of intelligence and purpose associated with the phenomena.
Once I began noticing that someone or something seemed to be trying to get my attention, the question became, "Who is it, and what do they want from me?"So I started looking for signs and clues to see if I could answer this question!
These signs can be something as simple as the “title or lyrics” of a song, “a catch phrase on a billboard“ or any number of tangible or intangible things we see or hear on a regular basis. Things we simply take for granted or don’t notice even when they are very obvious and staring us right in the face.
Unfortunately we all take too many things around us for granted, including our daily lives and the people in our life as well! The signs are there, we just need to look for them.
Once we start to notice these things, people and situations around us, we start to see and realize that everything matters and is related to everything else in our life and everything that we do. That what’s around us are clues and answers to not only questions and situations that we have at the moment, but are pieces of a much bigger puzzle that relate to things yet to happen or that we will experience down the road at some future time.
At one time I believed in
coincidence, but since I began investigating the unexplained, I have found
that what I once believed to be and called “coincidence” didn't seem to be taking place by mere chance or random mathematical occurrences. But
seems to take place with an almost eerie synchronicity and by intelligent design that some how can arranged people, places and things in our path, and at the precise moment needed.

My personal belief is that
even though we may not realize it, or at least not realize it until they somehow get our attention, but we all
have a personal guide, and possibly more than one personal guide. By “guide”, I
mean of a spiritual or supernatural origin and of higher intelligence. I
don’t believe for one minute that we were placed here on earth to fail, because that simply does
not make any sense. I also don’t believe that we are here on this Earth by
simple chance through a random evolution, because that doesn’t make sense
either. But were put here by intelligent design!
Don’t get me wrong, because I actually believe in evolution, but an evolution by design, created by an all-knowing, all-powerful miraculous being. So in order for us to live, to learn and to evolve into higher stages of existence, we were given “free will!” As a result of being given free will or choice, we sometimes make wrong decisions and by making wrong decisions, we stumble instead of evolve. Stumbling and making wrong decisions may not be pleasant, but is a necessary evil so to speak, because it allows us a chance to figure things out and to learn. Sort of the old adage, “Learning the hard way!” Mistakes and bad decisions are lessons, lessons that are taught to us by the"University of Life!" A university where free will, writes the textbook and designs the blueprint that we use to live and evolve.
The purpose of our “Guides or Watchers”, are not to tell us what to do or tell us how to live our lives, but are to provide “signs” and “hints” for us, to help stimulate our thought process which allows us to figure things out, to make better decisions, and to stay on the right path and grow intellectually as well as spiritually.
I also believe in opposites, the old Yin and Yang theory, which is “opposite yet complementary.”
Night looks and is very different than day, yet it is
impossible to have one without the other. Both create a totality and
distinguish differences so each can exist! So if we believe the Yin and Yang
theory, and if we have “positive” guides helping us, then there must be other “negative” beings or guides out there
who don’t have our best interest at hand, and who are trying to hinder our learning
and evolution to a higher state of being by misguiding us! When we do bad things or make mistakes,
which are not positive in nature by making bad choices, we cease to evolved and
our life’s journey takes an opposite path, which delays our evolving to a higher
level of existence, which I believe is one of the main purposes of life
So if my Yin and Yang theory is true, then there must also be guides which exist, whose purpose is to mislead us and to prevent us from evolving. Therefore we have to pay attention and sort of test the spirits or guides and use free will to interprut the signs they provide.
Logically everything contains or has its own Yin and Yang, even though they are totally different, opposite in their qualities and are independent, Yin cannot exist without Yang and Yang cannot exist without Yin. Examples of Yin and Yang include, night and day, black and white, good and bad and right and wrong.
So the purpose of seeing the various sequences of “1” may be to signify to us that it is “them”, our “helpers, guides or watchers”, who are trying to get us to notice the signs around us that have been placed in our paths, and that will leads us in the right direction by making better choices. Of course as I mentioned, we still have to use our own judgement to make sure we are following the right signs!
The numbers 1, 11, 111, 1111 and even multiples of these numbers seem to be almost a life code or mapping out of our existence, almost as if we are part of a virtual reality in some way.
I believe that seeing 1111 at various points in our lives is a sign in and of itself. A sign of reassurance for us. One that not only helps to steer us, but lets us know that we are in the right place and are doing exactly what we are supposed to be doing, verifying for us that we are on the right path!
